The material porcelain is one of my favorite material to work with as you have no limit of creativity
In my first YLVAYA collection the influence of nature is very clear in the lines. Many of the elements of this collection are inspired by flowers as I started my career in design as a florist at a very young age.
Every piece in this collection has been carefully hand cut to ensure the sharpness of the thin lines on the edges. I use biscuit porcelain to achieve the matte appearance and textually represent the raw material.All the pieces is made in a small factory in Chaozhou where the knowledge of this trade has been maintained for over 2000 years.This is a small production where the mould need to be change often because of the thin lines on each designs.
